Fair Use Policy

Understanding the limitations of the non-commercial Free plan.

Updated yesterday

At Sippo, we are committed to providing a robust and efficient platform to all our users, including those on our non-commercial Free plan.

Maintaining and improving our platform, however, is not free. We are a Canadian small business: we hire local staff, and have infrastructure to pay for.

Our Fair Use Policy is designed with the best interests of our entire user community in mind. By adhering to these guidelines, you help us maintain a high-quality service while enabling us to innovate and grow. If you have any questions about this policy or need assistance with managing your usage or upgrading your plan, please do not hesitate to contact our support team.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Understanding Fair Use

The Free plan is designed to offer new users an opportunity to explore the features of Sippo and understand how our platform can meet their needs. We aim to be generous with our offerings, while ensuring equitable access to our resources for all users. As such, our Free plan has visit limitations, and is restricted to non-commercial use only.

Visit Limitations

Our Free plan limits QR across web menus to 1000 cumulative visits per month. This number is reset monthly.

What happens if the limit is exceeded?

  • Notification: Menus that are approaching visit limits will receive an initial notification on the Sippo dashboard notifying them to upgrade to one of our paid plans.

  • Disabled menu: If the limit is hit, the web and QR menu will display a limit exceeded page until the account is upgraded, or until the limit resets at the beginning of the next month.

Non-Commercial Use

Our Free plan is restricted to non-commercial use only. Accounts that are using Sippo for commercial uses may be flagged, and will be required to upgrade to a paid plan to continue usage.

What happens if I've been flagged?

  • Notification: Menus that have been flagged will receive an initial notification on the Sippo dashboard notifying them to upgrade to one of our paid plans.

  • Disabled menu: If after 30 days the account hasn't been upgraded, we reserve the right to disable your menu until the account has been upgraded.

Upgrading

Upgrading to a paid plan can be done at any point from within the dashboard. Customers on Starter, Professional, and Enterprise plans are able to use Sippo for commercial uses without restriction.
