How to launch your displays and slideshows using the Amazon Fire TV Stick

Updated this week

For most use cases, we recommend using a Fire TV Stick.

Alternatives are available if you'd like to cast directly or view / share via a browser.

Recommended (Sippo TV App)

Fire TV Stick

A Fire TV Stick is a low-cost Amazon device that plugs directly into an HDMI input, turning your TV or monitor into a Smart TV and allowing you to download the Sippo TV app.

By using the Sippo TV app you'll benefit from offline support, auto-refresh, always-on and more.

We've provided links to the US Amazon product listings below purely for your convenience. If you're located outside of the US, we encourage you to search your local Amazon site to find the same product(s) available for purchase.

While there are multiple variants of Fire TV Sticks available, each with varying features and prices, we recommend the baseline Fire TV Stick due to its wide availability, good performance, and low cost with prices typically around $30.

The Sippo TV app is fully compatible with all editions of the Fire TV Stick, including:

A Fire TV is a standalone Smart TV, albeit with the Fire TV software built-in directly to the display. All editions of Fire TV are supported by Sippo.

Once your Fire TV Stick is setup:

  1. Install the Sippo App: Navigate to the Amazon Appstore on your Fire TV Stick or Fire TV device and search for Sippo.

  2. Enter your display code: Once installed, open the Sippo app from your Apps & Channels section and enter your Display or Slideshow code.

  3. Enjoy: Your menu is now live! Make any changes from the Sippo dashboard and see updates reflected instantly.

Casting

An alternative to the Sippo TV app is to cast your menu or slideshow to a display:

Google Chromecast / Smart TVs

Sippo also supports Google Chromecast and Smart TV devices. You can cast Sippo’s TV menus directly from your smartphone or tablet to your Chromecast-connected TV.

  1. Ensure your mobile device and Chromecast are on the same Wi-Fi network

  2. Open the Sippo app on your device

  3. Choose your Chromecast device or Smart TV from the list of available devices

Troubleshooting

Some FAQ we often get:

  • How do I show a different Display / Slideshow?

    • To enter in a new code, first click Select (centre button) on your remote

    • Navigate to Exit

    • Enter your new code

  • How do I manually refresh the TV?

    • While the TV should update automatically, you can manually refresh by clicking Select (centre button) on your remote and navigate to Refresh

  • Will the TV stay on?

    • Yes, the TV should stay on for as long as your TV and Fire TV Stick settings allow. In most cases, this is indefinitely.

  • The Fire TV restarted -- why?

    • Occasionally, your Fire TV may install software updates. When this happens, the device may restart. To return, simply reopen the Sippo TV app.
